Falcons Face Off
Help! We are looking for a sponsor or co-sponsors to manage the Falcons Face Off Matches. We would like to hold the first match in January. Please visit the Show Down site to get an idea of what we're hoping to accomplish. This project is wide-open, so feel free to make it your own. If you are interested in sponsoring or co-sponsoring, please send your contact information to sfoltz@spsmail.org. Thanks!
Seeking Volunteers to Collaborate
I am looking for Library Media Specialists and classroom teachers at any of our elementary feeder schools who would be willing to collaborate with me on a Student Treasures project in the upcoming months.
Additionally, I would like a GHS teacher who would be willing to organize his or her students to help with the writing and editing.
Student Treasures publishes class books, so your students would write a story (you decide the genre) and create the illustrations together to produce a single book. The class will be provided with one free copy of the book which we would like you to donate as a "Class of" book for a special traveling collection to the Library Media Center in your building. As students advance to middle school and to high school, the books their class created would travel them. The theme: someday when I'm a Falcon.
If you aren't familiar with Student Treasures, the process is very simple and the company really does all the work of organizing the project for you. I can put you in touch with other teachers who have collaborated on books in the past if you're interested.
Anyone willing to give it a try?
